Brushed Metal

 

 

1. Open new image. Any size you prefer. I used 100 x 100.
2. Go to Image>Noise>Add. Add noise twice at 100, then once at 80.
3. Go to Colours>Greyscale. Then increase your image back up to 16 Million colours.
4.  Go to Image>Blur>Motion Blur. Add 90 deg motion blur twice. First time at 40, then the second at 20.
5. Go to Image>Other>Emboss.
6. Go to Layers>New. Leave all settings as is. You can name your layer is you would like.
7. Fill with any solid colour you prefer. I used 83,82,114.
8. Click 'L' for your layer box. Change layer 2 to Hard Light and keep opacity at 100.
9. Go to Layers>Merge>Merge Visible. That's it!
**Hint** Different settings in the layer tool box with give you different results. Try using difference and see what happens!
If you are using text, make sure you keep it selected right through the process.
